Abstract
Multiseptate gallbladder is a rare congenital anomaly. Only 23 cases have been reported previously in the world literature. Since the failure of fusion of numerous intraepithelial clefts has been considered to be a conceivable mechanism for the
production of multiseptate gallbladder, the genesis of this anomaly is of embryologic interest. The multiseptate gallbladder has its specific radiologic appearance. The septations appear as fine, radiolucent defects within the contrast-filled
gallbladder, simulating honeycomb appearance. These septations are very thin and have been over-looked and confused with stones, so that careful inspection is necessary. In this case report, we described a 49-year-old female patients, whose ERCP
and
ultrasonographic findings were compatible with multiseptate gallbladder and reviewed cases which has been reported in literature. (Korean J Gastroenterol 1994 ; 26 : 607-613)
